How Node Yields and Power Sizing are Calculated
1. Power & Electricity Draw
Power cost is computed using average thermal design power (TDP) under real compute loads. A 24/7 node consumes (Watts × 24 × 365) ÷ 12,000 kilowatt-hours per month.
2. Proof of Compute & Tenancy
Decentralized compute networks like io.net and Akash pay a combination of availability uptime rewards and active rental fees when AI workloads lease your hardware.
3. Residential Bandwidth Scoring
For lightweight DePIN nodes (Grass, Dawn, Nodepay), bandwidth consumption is minimal, but maintaining continuous 24/7 uptime on low-power mini PCs is required to capture full epoch multipliers.
