Web3 infrastructure is the collection of systems that let a blockchain run and applications use it. Understanding the layers makes it easier to assess reliability and trust.
Nodes and consensus
Nodes distribute and validate chain data. Validators or miners participate in the consensus process, depending on a network’s design. Their work is separate from the interfaces most application users see.
RPC providers and indexers
Applications commonly ask an RPC endpoint for chain data and send transactions through it. Indexers organize chain data into queryable forms. Both are useful, but either can become a centralization or availability dependency.
Wallets and bridges
Wallets manage signing authority. Bridges connect assets or messages between networks, often with additional trust assumptions. Their security model deserves careful attention before use.
